Discover Your Brain Strengths to Navigate Life

Stop Worry With High Road Thinking

Advice

There seem to be more people than ever worried about having enough money to pay bills, do fun things, cover emergencies and retire someday. People are worried about their careers, employment security and where their next job lies, should they become unemployed. Basic needs and survival issues are putting unprecedented levels of stress on relationships at home and work. Stress is compromising our mental, emotional and physical health. People are searching for direction and solutions leading to a better, safer and more predictable life.

We can no longer depend on the “historically dependable employer” for job security, or on government and institutions “too large to let fail” for solutions and bailouts. Historically, people depended on wise parents, grandparents, clergy, teachers and close friends for counsel and advice. The problem is that many of these people are now struggling with their own challenges. It’s hard to think clearly and help others when you are hurting and struggling.

Looking for solutions outside of ourselves is the wrong and worst place to go. People have too long given their power to other people, organizations and institutions, allowing these others to tell them what to do and letting them make decisions on their behalf. This trend must end now, if we want to reverse what we are experiencing. This is an ideal time to look for solutions in the only places they can be found: our own brains and those of our “trusted advisors.” We must use our brainpower at higher levels than ever before to create new outcomes and realities. The thinking and actions that created our current situation are incapable of making it better; they can only give us more of the same.

Hierarchy of Decision Making (From Best to Worst)

  • You and your “trusted advisors”
  • You
  • Businesses and services providers having demonstrated integrous values, services and products
  • Self-serving individuals, organizations, institutions and business

The reason for placing “trusted advisors” at the top is because they share your values, have common goals, believe in the “power within” and are committed to helping you in return for you helping them. Trusted advisor groups know that they can do more together than individually. They recognize that “flying solo” is a lonely and potentially dangerous act.

In conclusion, if ignorant and selfish thinking created our current colossal mess, then focused integrous thinking becomes the new pathway to a better future. Practical neuroscience is available to anyone interested leveraging their brain strengths, knowledge and experience to solve problems. This is a call for action to form critical masses of like-minded people to combine their brainpower for a more prosperous and peaceful life.

I have been working on a book about what to tell our kids on how to succeed in the next generation. What with outsourcing, globalization, financial crisis and dire future trends with the climate, population and resources it is a bit complicated. I agree, look to yourself first and those you trust, make your own way.

Love to incorporate any thoughts you have. (I have a chapter of advice from around the nation).

While the book is unfinished the blog goes on and on… http://wp.me/p1yBNt-20

      Dear Mike
Thank you for your kind comments and reaching out. I share your goal of helping “kids” navigate the next generation. Remember, there are “kids” inside all of us and there are many “older kids” trying to make sense of what’s going on and what to make of it. Lots of “kids” out there!

It seems to me that a component of directional and sustainable living is helping people connect their “brain power” with their “heart power.” It takes the “dynamic duo” to establish meaning of life and get tsustainable results. Does this make any kind of sense to you?

We work in the field of practical neuroscience to help people live a better, more prosperous and peaceful life with less stress. My orientation is “start small,” “start where you are,” and, “don’t forget to start.” To get to the “starting line” people need to have basic information on their the power of their imagination andpotential and how to activate it. Our articles and continuing education efforts work toward providing foundational knowledge to establish life direction and goals for people attracted to this subject.

Your “book” seems like a great interim goal for you and I am happy to provide insights and resources. I have a feeling you are on a major life pathway. You can contact me by email from our web site so we can correspond directly.

      Best and kindest regards,

That really is an awesome and gutsy goal to try and accomplish, God knows we need more people like you.

      Dear Justin,

Thank you for your post and reaching out. I can see you want people to visit your “Physician Assistant” site.

Physician Assistants are in a career requiring “brain power” and knowlege. The “brain power” component is the missing link for career success. It’s essential that new and existing PA’s know their sensory and cognitive strengths and “blind spots” to achieve performance excellence and minimize costly mistakes and accidents. Imagine what would happen when a PA having Visual as a least preferred sensory pathways fails to see something important in a life endangering situation. Other sensory “blind spots” are Auditory (not hearing something important) and Kinesthetic (not feeling something important and/or being physically clumsy with a hands-one action). Cognitive “blind spots” include Sequential (missing logic and established processes) and Global (difficulty to access possibilities and options when logic doesn’t apply.)

When PA’s are self aware of their “blind spots” they are more apt to pay attention to them when they are called to action. Self aware PA’s know and leverage their co-workers “strengths” to counter balances their “blind spots.”

We work in the field of practical neuroscience to help people live a better, more prosperous and peaceful life with less stress. We have developed reliable and trusted products to educate peope on how their brains are wired and help them understand what makes them tick.

      Best and kindest regards,

      Dear Teaching Assistant,

That first step is the most important because you are beginning a journey of learning what inside of you wanting to express itself. It gets easier with time and is lots of fun when you are light hearted.

      Enjoy,
      Stephen
